LLOYDSPHARMACY - BIRMINGHAM, WE

Today this pharmacy was very short staffed so the locum pharmacist shut the shop to general traffic as she felt it was unsafe to continue. This, of course, caused problems with the pharmacy assistant, Debbie, having to answer people knocking on the door for admission (despite a notice explaining what was happening), asking them if they wanted to pick up a prescription and explaining that if they wanted anything else it wouldn’t be possible today, escorting customers inside already to the door to let them out, and also having to do her normal duties in the shop front PLUS help the pharmacist. She eventually burst into tears with the stress of it all. I’ve no doubt that she also felt abandoned by her employers who appeared to have done nothing to help - like send some extra staff. The locum pharmacist was lovely to customers but she is of course hampered by working in an unfamiliar store.
I understand that this has been going on for sometime and it’s about time you did something to sort these problems out.
I’m giving one star only because of the apparent disorganisation caused by there being no manager. I would have given at least four because most of the staff are very nice, Debbie, in particular, being one who everyone would say goes out of her way to help out.
