I took my Rover 75 here as it had developed a couple of faults:- The air con was not working and the car had a 'clunking' felt through the steering around the straight ahead position. I thought as Viking were familiar with Rovers they would have some experience or knowledge to know where to start with these faults. In the end they tried to re-gas the air con whilst a hole existed in one of the soft aluminium air con pipes, which had been caused by it rubbing against a hose in front of the alternator for the last 6 years. I found out later this is a very common site in the 75's for this to happen and the damage is visible as soon as you open the bonnet. The other fault I had researched beforehand and had asked for the strut top bearings to be replaced. Viking said in their opinion I had a worn steering rack, which they would replace with a second hand one for £370. I didn't take them up on this and later had both strut top bearings changed elsewhere for £50, curing the problem. The worse part of the Viking experience was that for their incorrect diagnosis and pointless re-gas I was charged £70.
