The event, my 60th Birthday Party held on
12th October 2019, with a Cuban theme, a
private DJ, cakes made by Dani (a young,
talented and increasingly popular Long Eaton
cake maker) and a lovely buffet provided by
Cleve Lodge.
Guests were mainly family or Salsa and
Ballroom friends, we had a show exhibition
dance in the middle of the evening, by Nathan
and Jenny Long Eaton’s very own UK Dance
Champions. Strictly eat your heart out!
The buffet we went for was actually one of
the cheaper options it was plentiful and
superb with a nod in the direction of my WW
(Weight Watchers) friends. We had several
comments on the night from our guests with
regard to the excellent variety and quality
of the food on offer.
We left the decoration of the room in the
very capable hands of Johanna and her team
and then enhanced this with a few classics of
our own. Johanna had googled the Cuban flag
and was able to decorate every table making
the flag out of the runners and red
serviettes; she even ditched her black blouse
in favour of a vibrant blue number to fit our
theme! Johanna was on hand to ensure
everything went to plan. Nothing was too much
trouble and as new ideas came about they were
embraced and built on.
The display of photos on the sweets trolley
with lights looked amazing.
Cleve Lodge is the best kept secret in Long
Eaton, many local guests didn’t know of its
existence and for this type of event it is
probably the best venue Long Eaton has to
offer! The separate bar and lounge area gave
guests a ‘chill out zone’ in which to
relax and talk to each other away from the
main party area. I would have no hesitation
in booking again and totally recommend
Johanna and her team they were fabulous.
Thank you to everyone involved for making
this my 60th Birthday Party an event I will
never forget!
