BARCLAY AUTOS LTD - HAYES, MI

Having suffered an accident that severely damaged the front nearside alloy wheel, bent the wishbone & ripped the tyre on Friday 21st January, Barclays Autos was recommended to me by the RAC officer who attended & was towed there by the recovery truck & arrived around 1:00 pm. Upon arrival the vehicle was visually assessed immediately with a brief description of the damage. The proprietor told me he would telephone me later that day with a more accurate assesment. I was telephoned at 4:00pm on that day with the information & an estimated cost (actual cost of all parts not available at time), I was informed that my vehicle would be ready on Wednesday 26th January. Lo & behold I received a phone call today Wed 26th to inform me my car was ready, the cost was within £50.00 of the original estimate, the car was immaculately cleaned inside & out, all members of staff were courtious & helpfull, in fact the service was exemplary & a credit to the auto repair industry. I would have no hesitation in recommending Barclays Autos to anyone. FIRST CLASS

Sadly, I'm going to have to write a bad review for this Barclay Autos Independent Garage. And let's face it, no one enjoys writing bad reviews, because no one likes feeling like a high maintenance b**ch, but here goes... I went to the Barclay Autos in Hayes because I have an warning light and management light in board of my car. After 3 days the they can't find the fault. they called me to said the problem with PDF and needs to be replacing and that will cost me £315+ Labour and VAT. But they didn't fix the problem and they still charge me full price. I do not recommend you to take your car there as they not professional

I had an electrical problem with a 2005 Vectra Estate which a Vauxhall dealer had been unable to fix for the best part of a year. They told me that the component I needed was no longer available.

Barclay Autos manage to locate the part and fixed the problem in a matter of a few days.

Very impressed. Nice people, well equipped facilities, excellent service. Cannot rate them highly enough.

This garage is an absolute rip off and should be closed down. I took my car to them with a whirring noise. They put the car through 'diagnostics' and then ,2 days later, told me that the clutch was gone and would cost in excess of £600 to repair! Taking their 'expert' word for it, I order a clutch online, costing me in excess of £200. I took the clutch to a specialist to fit, who then informed the whirring noise was just a minor baring fault that should have cost me no more than £50 to repair. They cost me time, money, were rude, slow, and ultimately lied to me. My clutch was in perfect order, they are crooks! Avoid, report, Watchdog, but DO NOT take your car there!
