PRESTIGE FITNESS UK LTD - ORPINGTON, KE

We purchased the Crazy fit massage power vibration plate, Item Id: 190629344213 from Prestige sports, UK through Ebay on 11/04/2012. It first came with a faulty switch, which they posted me on request. I contacted the seller early this year regarding a persistent noise coming from the machine when in operation. I was advised by the seller to diagnose the problem by opening the machine to identify the precise location from where the sound was originating. As advised, I opened the machine and informed them of the source of noise. They then asked me to send them a picture from where the noise was coming. I had to again open the machine the second time to send them the image. Subsequently I observed that the touch pad on top of the machine was not working as well. I contacted the seller highlighting this problem. The response from the seller was that the touch pad stopped working because of some damage caused when opening the machine and therefore refused to take responsibility of this problem. To this I suggested that I would send the machine to them so that they could sort all these problems for me as I am not competent to repair/diagnose such machines. Subsequently the response from the seller was that they would repair/replace only the part that was making noise, free of charge, but will charge me separately for the touch screen. They also stated that the responsibility of sending the machine to them and the return postage charges were to be borne by me. The seller refuses to take responsibility of shipping charges of the machine and the costs to replace the touch screen. The alternate suggestion they made was that they could send the spare part to address noise (shipping charges to be borne by me) and that I get it fitted myself, which looks quite a complex mechanics. They also said that I will have to pay for the touch screen component separately and they will post this part to me, for which I pay postage charges as well. I think this is extremely unfair that I have to pay for a defective product and have to pay for all shipping expenses to get it fitted myself. Also unfair is the fact that I am required to pay for a damage caused by their suggestion of opening the machine, which the Prestige Fitness Uk Ltd now does not want to take any responsibility of. Prestige Fitness Uk Ltd as till date [2015] not resolved our issue. Sudhir Ireland
